Average score: 43.5%
Halcyon Agri score: 66.1%

We’re pleased to share that Halcyon Agri has been ranked fourth for transparency in ZSL’s rubber industry SPOTT assessment. Halcyon Agri achieved a total score of 66.1%, surpassing the average industry score of 43.5% for 2024 among the 30 major natural rubber companies assessed. Halcyon was assessed against a total number of 164 indicators, whilst the average number of indicators among the other top 10 companies stands at 133.

The SPOTT (Sustainability Policy Transparency Toolkit) is a framework, developed by international conservation charity ZSL (Zoological Society of London) for assessing commodity producers, processors and traders on their public disclosure regarding their organisation, policies, and practices related to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues. By annually tracking transparency across sector-specific indicators, SPOTT incentivises the implementation of corporate best practices.

The transparency encouraged by the assessment is particularly vital for the natural rubber industry as we progress towards the new EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR). With traceability and our no-deforestation policy at the forefront of our operations, our internal plantation product is already EUDR compliant. This adds to the efforts of our trading teams who are  partnering with suppliers to meet the upcoming requirements. We look forward to seeing the wider industry impact that the EUDR will have on reducing deforestation globally.

We’re pleased to see that this year’s SPOTT score validates our efforts in raising the benchmark for sustainability across the natural rubber industry. The assessment reflects the importance of transparency across our own operations but also in support of our global suppliers.
