Opening our doors to the Turkish rubber market
We’re pleased to announce the opening of our new Wurfbain distribution office in Istanbul, Turkey as we continue to expand our global service capabilities. At a period of regional economic transformation, the office is strategically located to serve a market that has seen a steady rise in natural rubber demand.
Home to various major commercial vehicle manufacturers, Turkey is the leader in bus tyre production for European markets. Whilst nearly 70% of freight transport is carried out on road in mainland Europe, this rate approaches nearly 85% in Turkey. The country’s rising demand for tyres can be attributed to its expanding automotive fleet size and the growing automotive production across the country. These factors contribute towards the Turkish tyre market being projected to cross US$ 3 billion by 2022.*
Drawing on the resources and experience of our global teams, the office will develop Wurfbain’s cohesive service network and its technical capabilities. The new team headed by Director, Serenat Akkas, will equally share Wurfbain’s commitment to ensuring reliable, efficient and sustainable rubber supply chains from producer to consumer.
