We’re celebrating #FollowtheFrog week with Rainforest Alliance from the 23rd – 29th September, a campaign that encourages businesses and individuals to share the actions they take to lighten our global environmental footprint.
This week acknowledges the perennial need for industry dialogue and NGO partnerships – highlighting the power of cooperation in shaping a more sustainable future.
Our relationship with Rainforest Alliance includes the development of our Sustainable Sourcing Policy, our principal guideline for implementing a responsible third-party supply chain. We strive to ensure the products delivered to our customers originate from sources where it is sustainably and responsibly cultivated, harvested and processed. This policy reiterates our commitment to conduct business with integrity and transparency together with social and environmental responsibility by extending the Company’s standards to its business partners. Rainforest Alliance were therefore engaged to perform a Risk Analysis, with the objective of developing tools to improve our engagement with suppliers on responsible sourcing. The assessments also included the evaluation of the suppliers’ commitment towards shared policy goals.
#FollowtheFrog week will also feature a presentation by Robert Meyer, our CEO, at a Rainforest Alliance conference in Hat Yai, Thailand. The conference will bring together progressive stakeholders across the value chain to focus on the commitment to sustainable and ethical rubber. Robert Meyer will examine the ‘The Economics of Sustainability and Smallholder Livelihoods in the Natural Rubber Supply Chain,’ and we look forward to sharing more on this topic soon.
